Although we can supply modified widths for pairs of gates in the Byfleet, Hersham, Dulwich & Beverley design aluminium gates, these start at 3000mm wide, which isn’t very cost effective if you only have a narrow opening. As a suggestion, with a little compromise and some good DIY skills you can use 2 single aluminium gates to make a pair 2400mm and under, as shown in photo, or even an unequal pair of aluminium gates using 2 single gates.

Compromise:-

  • 2 Handles will show on gates, 1 of which doesn’t work.
  • Lock keep is screwed to fixed gate, instead of being supplied with cover strip fixed centrally.
  • Screws are not supplied to attached lock keep to gate.

Fitting calculation:-

2 Single pedestrian aluminium gates will need 45mm tolerance to allow for hinges and central lock keep, so if you have 2/1000mm wide gates then your opening will need to be 2045mm. Unfortunately we don’t supply full fitting instruction for single pedestrian gates being used as pairs, although the majority of the process can be viewed within fitting instructions for pairs or single gates.

With a little compromise we can save you money.
